Definition of an Awesome Commercial

Most commercials air like ships in the night, at least to me. I suppose I don’t watch a whole lot of television, but after almost 30 years of being intermittently in front of the tube, I remember maybe a handful of advertisements. The rest air for a time and then are gone, vanished into the ether of the airwaves as if they never existed.

Most of the commercials I can quickly recall are funny ads for beer. Don’t ask me what it is, but beer commercials tend to be some of the funniest and most memorable ones around. I remember watching bearded men who dressed up in drag for free Bud Light, the fellow who’d say “Yes I am” when asked if he was anyone in exchange for more of the same brew. Yes, whatever person or team that Bud Light has had writing its commercials probably deserves a mansion or ay least a diamond-studded iPad stand. But one of my favorite commercials of all-time wasn’t funny at all and did better to illustrate its brand.

Imagine a 3D chessboard. This was the scene for a 60-second spot that aired in the early 1990s, depicting various actors doing battle on a chessboard. I remember the first time or two that I watched that ad wondering what it was for. Of all things, it was a commercial for, as it said at the end, “The few, the proud, the Marines.” It made them look like warriors.

Quick Tips For Being Your Own Handyman (or Handywoman)

Instead of buying a new home, many people are opting to work on their current home in this economy. Here are some things to think about when you are planning to do some home renovation projects on your own. The more educated you are, the more confident you can be in your decision making. Legitimate contractors have insurance – avoid any that do not. This insurance will cover any damages they may do. To verify a contractor’s insurance status, you just need to demand proof that he is insured. Read your home improvement contract before you sign it. It may seem daunting, but you’ll need to make sure that everything within the paperwork is something you approve of. If you skip this step, your contractor may take advantage of you. Whether you trust him or not, read the details. Do you want an elegant upgrade to your home that doesn’t break the bank? One great way to add a small spice of elegance to your home setup is to replace your door bell with a new one. Your visitors will have a different overall feel of your home. Do you need some extra storage in your kitchen? If so, then make use of empty two-liter bottles. They are transparent, and a good way to store things like flour, baking soda and sugar. You can keep them in a freezer, refrigerator, or on a shelf. Whenever you need them, simply twist off the cap and empty the contents. Anyone interested in making a big impact on their home’s exterior should consider a new paint job. There is nothing as fresh as a brand new coating of paint. Do not hesitate to choose an original color for a brand new look. Plan out what you intend to do before you start on your home improvement project. A plan is essential for a successful project. Adding impulse features in the middle of the project can cause your costs to skyrocket and your time frame to escalate. Your contractors will be pleased if you have made a decision of what you want before they begin. List the things you need before you go to the home improvement store. Having a list helps you stay more organized and prevents you from having to run back to the store again and again. Put a peephole in outside doors! Safety first! Never open the door unless you know who is there. Installing a peephole is affordable and can be done quickly. It only takes your time and a drill. A peephole will offer you some peace of mind when someone is knocking at your door. Windows with clear glass can lead to your home losing nearly a fifth of its heat. Cut that loss in half by applying a 2nd glaze to big windows. You’ll see the difference in your heating and cooling bills right away. You will also notice greater comfort in your home. You can really show off your personality through your home improvement choices. Homeowners are increasingly adopting do-it-yourself attitudes and making the most of their existing homes instead of wading into the real estate market looking for new ones. Using the information above will give you a head start in planning your next project successfully.

My neighbor

I just parked my car in the garage when I saw my neighbor coming towards me. He was in a bad mood, so I stopped to listen to him. He apologized for disturbing me, and he wanted to ask me if I could lend him some money. I asked him about the sum and the reason. He told me five thousand dollars and the reason was renovating his house. I said that I didn't have that much money and since the matter was not urgent, I suggested going to JR Star Credit and taking out a personal loan, so he could renovate his house. He thanked me and I went home.
